With a strength of some 1000 students today, Bishop Strachan School was opened way back in 1867 with a concept of educating and liberating girls—an idea which was completely new at that time.
BSS is an Anglican day and boarding school for girls in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. The guiding principle of the school is 'Excellence' and it nurtures students in an environment where they are willing to take risks, challenge convention and accept failure as a stepping stone to success.
Individual attention on each student is a plus point and the girls are encouraged to embrace change, expand their individual potentials and emerge as leaders in their chosen fields.
BSS strives to foster a respectful, diverse and inclusive community. Students are engaged in service programmes to develop their sense of belonging with the community and understand their needs.
